Elections to the PhD Student Council

Election Committee is announcing election to the Council of the PhD Self-Government in Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology. List of unoccupied mandates assigned to the Departments:

- Neurobiology Center (29 students): 3 mandates,

- International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (12 students): 1 mandate,

- Department of Biochemistry, along with Laboratory of Cytometry(45 students): 5 mandates,

- Department of Cell Biology (12 students): 1 mandate,

- Department of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology (44 students): 4 mandates,

- Department of Neurophysiology (54 students): 5 mandates.

Election schedule:

Monday 11th of December 4 PM - deadline for candidate applications, Monday 11th of December - announcement of candidate lists, Monday 18th of December - deadline for application of representative of PhD students not belonging to any department, Monday 18th of December - Thursday 21st of December - elections in the departments, Friday 22nd of December till 4 PM - deadline for announcement of the election results, Friday 29th of December 4 PM - deadline for examination of election complaints.

In Departments where the number of candidates is lower than or equal to the number of mandates available for them, all the candidates automatically become representatives to the Students' Council, without the necessity to hold an election. Election in the Departments, which have more candidates that mandates, will take place in the Institute, separately for each Department. Voting will be on enumerated cards (but not connected to the voters name) which will be given out (with a receipt) after identification with:

- presentation of a valid PhD ID, or

- presentation of a valid ISIC card, or

- presentation of a named Institute ID, or

- confirmation of identity by Election Committee member who personally knows the voter.

In case of voter's name missing in the list of people allowed to vote the voter name can be appended to the list ONLY on presentation of a valid PhD ID or a valid ISIC card.

APPLICATIONS OF CANDIDATES TO STUDENT COUNCIL should be sent FROM THE CANDIDATE'S INSTITUTE E-MAIL ACCOUNT (of domain nencki.gov.pl or iimcb.gov.pl in case of IIMCB students) to sd@nencki.gov.pl e-mail address with word "KANDYDAT" or “CANDIDATE” in the topic of the message.

The application is required to contain:

NAME, FAMILY NAME and DEPARTMENT the candidate belongs to (for the election purposes the Laboratory of Cytometry is seen as part of the Department of Biochemistry, and the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw as a separate department).

STUDENTS NOT BELONGING TO ANY DEPARTMENT are allowed to elect their representative to the Council according to their own rules and inform the Election Committee about one's identity not later than Monday 17th of December.

The Election Committee members are:

- Monika Prill (Department of Biochemistry).
