I PhD Conference of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The I PhD Conference of the Polish Academy of Sciences took place at Falenty on 23 - 25 June 2017. The meeting was aiming to introduce proposed amendments to the reforms of science and higher education. This included creation of the University of Polish Academy of Sciences (UPAN/UPAS) joining all research institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The issues concerning Nencki PhD students were raised at the meeting. The representatives from the Nencki's Student Council took part in the preparation of the draft with suggested changes to the proposed new reforms. Student Council was acting only in favour of Nencki PhD students, making sure that their PhD programmes remain unaffected.
